SINTONIZARNOS
Construcción, amplificación y reconfiguración de la escucha
2026
Maya Di Maula and Emma De Davide
Sintonizarnos is a collaborative artistic research project that approaches sound as a relational practice. Through the construction, activation and displacement of a self-built sound system, it explores listening as a way of creating connections between bodies, spaces and technologies. The project brings together four publications documenting different stages of the research: theory, construction, territory and installation. Together, they operate as different states of the same frequency, forming a continuous process of transformation.
Diálogo Sónico: theoretical research, A4 publication.
Nuestro Sistema: instruction manual, A5 publication.
Sound Móvil: A5 horizontal publication, tracing paper and ring binding.
Cuento Sonoro: sound installation. Seven passive speakers, three amplifiers, crossover, mixing desk, A5 publication. Audio piece: 7’42”.
Diálogo Sónico
Emerges from the encounter between our theoretical investigations. Through a shared third voice, the ideas enter into dialogue, overlap and construct a common understanding of sound and listening.

Transforms the reflection in construction and in to an instruction manual for building a sound system of our own, documenting the technical and material process developed according to the principles of DIY (Do It Yourself).
Through the activation of the amplification system, the intention is to open up a process of bringing attention to practices of collaboration and shared experience.
Sound Móvil

Moves the sound system into the territory. As an archive of acoustic archaeology, the publication explores the connections between the sound system and the spaces it passes through: abandoned places, transforming environments and processes of gentrification.
Conceived as a travelling and accumulative device, the system carries with it the sonic traces of the places it has inhabited.
Reinterprets the entire project through fiction. Through a visual and illustrated narrative, the ideas and questions developed throughout the research acquire a new form, transforming theory and experience into storytelling.
Fuente de Sonido 2026
Recycled lamp, Playtron MIDI controller, alligator clip cables, PC and speaker.
This device for collective listening and experimentation. works through the contact between bodies, water, metal and technology, the audience can modify a soundscape in real time, built from underwater recordings made at the fountain in Piazza Maggiore, Bologna.
The MIDI controllers integrated into the sculpture add or remove different frequencies from the underwater recording.

Ruido 2025
Field recorder, plastic membrane, laser, mirror, and speaker with a custom-made enclosure laminated with fibreglass and polyester
50 x 30 x 45cm.
Interactive sound and light installation.
Amplification and light projection system with real-time recording.
Activated by the audience’s presence, sounds are captured and amplified, causing it’s vibrations to reflect on a mirror that transforms them into visible traces.

Áudio: 4’06’’
Low-fired red clay, high-fired white clay, refractory black clay.
This practice explores the relationship between matter and sound, using ceramics as a medium to investigate acoustic phenomena through a sculptural and experimental approach.
Through the hand-building of organic, intuitive ceramic vessels, I explore how form, airflow and gesture produce different resonances and sonic behaviours.
Sculpture
Máster in Sculpture ABABO Bologna. Fenomenología del corpo. prof. Sergia Avveduti. Photography Workshop by Nicoló Gandolfi.
Project executed in Villa delle Rose 2026.
Photografy colletion (4) 18 x 24 cm
The project approaches space as a sensitive body, activated and transformed through gesture. Situated between the everyday and the performative, it explores temporary forms of relation with the landscape through actions such as holding and weaving.
The braid becomes a root, bridge and support system, while the foliage expands into an extension of the body. Photography captures this moment of precarious balance, creating a pause in our habitual ways of moving through and inhabiting space.
Histeria
Histeria 2024
42 × 42 cm
Wood, silicone, greyboard, filler and spray paint.
Histeria explores the body as matter, memory and political territory, examining how structures of power shape its perception and representation.
A structure resembling a trap encloses a symbolic organ evoking the uterus. The work forces the viewer into a slow and cautious approach, transferring part of the tension and symbolic violence associated with the female body to the viewer.

Public Performance
Aquí Nadie is a collective journey materialised as a visual and poetic archive composed of postcards, maps, photographs and a video performance. The work emerges from our relationship with the spaces we inhabit daily but do not truly belong to: gentrified spaces that impose a form of uprooted and precarious existence.
